The white heron reminds me of my mother. Many years ago my mother formed a dance group at her church that she dubbed the White Heron Group inspired after the first song she developed a choreograph for. She recently reminisced with me how white herons reminded her of Taiwan.
She shared the lyrics of the first line of the first song she choreographed, “the white heron standing in the rice paddy is in want of nothing.” I can’t help but reminded of Matthew 6:26 - the Lord cares for and feeds the birds, are you not of more value than they?
From birth even until now in my late 30s, she has made sure that I have been in want of nothing. I still get giant ziplock bags of fruit to take home when I visit.God has worked through her hands time and time again to care for me and I will forever be grateful for her and her prayers over myself and my family.
Thanks mom! Happy Mother’s Day!
