I haven't posted in a very long time, but I felt like sharing what I had worked on towards the end of last year. It had been a long time coming, but I really wanted to try writing a comic where I could pour in all of my random interests and create a world where I could vicariously have fantastical adventures through.

The process of writing and illustrating it myself was quite a learning experience and I'd like to do more of it in the future and hope that I get better at it too. I was originally going to keep it to myself, but I figured ... why not? You can click the image above to read the comic. I hope you enjoy it!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by john cheng

I grew up on Ninja Turtles. It was may favorite cartoon, I watched it every Saturday, I had toys, and even learned how to use sais properly in martial arts. The show will always be a part of my childhood and I will have fond memories to hold onto for a very long time.

1990-1993 came along and the beloved turtles were adapted into a series of live action movies which at the time, I thought were amazing. Though now looking back, they were quite frightening.

In 2012, they redesigned the turtles to appeal to a newer generation of viewers which I also did not mind. At least they weren't the live action ones from back in 1990. The style of animation was very clean and appealed to my own personal aesthetic.

With that said, I'm not quite sure how I feel yet about Michael Bay's interpretation of the turtles. I guess I'll have to wait and see how it pans out on the big screen.

I think I may have nightmares now of roided up turtles... what are your thoughts?
