A part of Japanese culture that I admire is the conscious decision to reduce things to their most minimal form. It also needs to be noted that Japanese minimalism does not sacrifice function over form, but marry the two together which is why I feel Japanese design and processes so enticing. A great example would be the gift wrapping tutorial below, so much simpler and cleaner than how I wrap gifts.
